2026 High School Scholarship Application Schedule
Deadline for application through Minnie Piper Stevens is October 24, 2025 at 4pm
August - Minnie Piper Stevens Foundation publishes scholarship booklets and sends letters to all Bexar County highschool counselors notifying them of distribution dates.
September/October - Booklets are distributed along with nomination sheets, counselor guidelines and library resource sheets to every high school counselor in Bexar County. Seniors interested in applying to the scholarship should inform their senior counselor to request a BEXAR COUNTY SCHOLARSHIP CLEARINGHOUSE APPLICATION, provided they meet the criteria required for nomination. The deadline for counselors to turn in scholarships is October 24, 2025 at 4pm
Friday, OCTOBER 24, 2025 AT 4PM - completed student applications deadline (must be received by Minnie Stevens Piper Foundation by this date)
December/January - foundation staff processes and ranks completed applications
February/March - foundation ranks applications and begin selection process and forwards all qualified recipients to SAPA
San Antonio Pickleball Association Scholarship Committee meets in March/April to decide on top qualified recipients and Ceremony awarding recepints usually occurs in April/May.

2024 HS Scholarship Ceremony - Congratulations all recipients!!
San Antonio Pickleball Association held our Annual HS Scholarship Ceremony this past weekend and the seniors were thrilled to receive 2 Carbon X paddles from ROKNE during the presentation. The seniors learned to play the game for the first time with ROKNE paddles and continued to play long after the ceremony concluded. As you may have seen I did post on your Facebook page (below) as well as our social media sites.
We are blown away with ROKNE's generosity and support of our local youth in San Antonio. Now, these students will take their new ROKNE paddles off to many different college locations in Texas and beyond. One of our senior recipients has been accepted to Stanford and waitlisted to Harvard. Thank you again for your wonderful sponsorship of our Scholarship ceremony!
We are excited to announce our HS Seniors who are Scholarship recipients for 2025 at our Ceremony held May 3 at Fairchild Park 11am on court 6.
Recipients are invited to come early at 10:30am to learn the game taught by Danna Halff and stay after the ceremony to play pickleball

2025 SAN ANTONIO PICKLEBALL ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP!
We are pleased to be working with the Minnie Stevens Piper Foundation, again this year, to award scholarships to High School Seniors. Please see your High School Counselor to apply. Every high school in Bexar County may participate.
The San Antonio Pickleball Association will award one or more scholarships, of a minimum of $1000, to a college bound Bexar County High School Senior. Funds will be awarded in the spring and disbursed in late August/early September, directly to students upon proof of enrollment in classes. In addition to the application requirements, eligible students are required to submit two supplemental essays, approximately 250 words each, describing the following.
#1–How they have contributed to their community to help make it a richer, more vibrant place AND # 2–How participation in amateur or youth sports has shaped them as a person. Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of these essays, and also on financial need, academic accomplishments, community involvement, sports participation, personal narrative and letter of recommendation (from teacher or counselor)
