2027 San Antonio Pickleball Association Scholarship Information
We are pleased to be working with the Minnie Stevens Piper Foundation again this year to award scholarships to High School Seniors.
If you know of a rising high school senior who would like to apply for the scholarship, please direct them to their high school counselor who will have all the information to apply through the Minnie Stevens Piper Foundation. Completed applications are due to the foundation before October 23, 2026.
Your SAPA dues support the scholarship fund. If you would like to make an additional tax deductible donation to our Scholarship Fund, please do it through our website: sanantoniopickleball.org or VENMO us at @ SAPickleball. Business sponsors are also welcome! Please contact us for more information.
SAPA is hosting a tournament at Chicken and Pickle on August 2, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Look for more information to be posted on our SAPA Facebook page and here soon!
2026 Scholarship Ceremony
Congratulations to the 2026 scholarship recipients. The scholarship ceremony was held on Saturday May 9 at 11:00 a.m. at Fairchild Park for scholarship recipients and their families. Eighteen students received 1500.00 scholarships this year, and two outstanding students received the Travis Martin Scholarship Award for 2000.00. Since it's inception SAPA has given away over $100,000 in scholarships in only 5 years. We continue to fulfill our mission to help kids achieve a post-secondary education and invite them to fall in love with pickleball by offering them a pickleball lesson with their awards ceremony. Thank you to all of the members and leadership for making this possible!

We are a Non-Profit organization, that is dedicated to promoting the growth of the sport of Pickleball in San Antonio, Texas and the surrounding areas through the conduct of education, training, social events and other amateur sports competitions.
Our Purpose:
To provide instruction in the sport of Pickleball to persons of all ages and/or individuals with disabilities
To provide opportunities for participants to engage in recreational as well as competitive Pickleball
To assist local high school seniors through the awarding of scholarships to pursue post secondary education and to introduce local youth to the developmental benefits of participating in amateur sports.

On May 3, 2025, we honored 30 scholarship recipients. Special Shoutout to Joola for their generous donation of 2 paddles to each student!
2024 SAPA Scholarship Ceremony - Congratulations all recipients!!
San Antonio Pickleball Association held our Annual HS Scholarship Ceremony this past weekend and the seniors were thrilled to receive 2 Carbon X paddles from ROKNE during the presentation. The seniors learned to play the game for the first time with ROKNE paddles and continued to play long after the ceremony concluded.
We are blown away with ROKNE's generosity and support of our local youth in San Antonio. Now, these students will take their new ROKNE paddles off to many different college locations in Texas and beyond. One of our senior recipients has been accepted to Stanford and waitlisted to Harvard. Thank you again for your wonderful sponsorship of our Scholarship ceremony!
